At Suncare Medical Center, we are committed to providing high-quality healthcare, wellness, and supportive services to our patients and their families. To ensure transparency and consistent care, we have established the following policies and procedures. These guidelines are designed to create a safe, respectful, and efficient environment for all parties involved.
1. Appointment Policies
1.1 Scheduling Appointments
• Appointments can be scheduled by calling us at 305-489-9090 or via our website at www.suncaremedicalcenter.com.
• Same-day appointments are available for urgent care services, subject to availability.
• Home visit appointments (Doctor at Home) require at least 24 hours’ notice.
1.2 Walk-In Appointments
• Walk-ins are accepted for general practice, urgent care, and pain management. However, priority will be given to scheduled patients.
• Patients may experience longer wait times depending on the volume of walk-ins.
1.3 Late Arrivals
• Patients arriving more than 15 minutes late may need to reschedule their appointment to avoid disruptions to other patients’ schedules.
• If late, please contact us immediately to assess whether accommodations can be made.
1.4 Recurring Appointments
• Recurring services such as therapy sessions, beauty treatments, or wellness check-ins can be scheduled in advance for the next 3-6 months.
2. Medical and Clinical Research Policies
2.1 Patient Eligibility for Clinical Research
• Participants in clinical trials must meet specific inclusion and exclusion criteria.
• Consent is mandatory before participation, and patients may withdraw at any time without impacting their access to other services.
2.2 Coverage of Costs for Clinical Trials
• Costs related to clinical research (e.g., tests, medications) are typically covered by the sponsoring pharmaceutical companies.
• Patients will be informed of any out-of-pocket costs before enrollment.
2.3 Compliance with Regulations
• All clinical research activities are conducted in accordance with FDA regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) standards, and local/state laws.
• Participants’ health information will remain confidential and protected under applicable privacy laws.
3. Wellness Center and Day Care Policies
3.1 Enrollment Process
• Seniors wishing to enroll in the Wellness Center must complete an application form, provide medical history, and meet with our staff for an initial assessment.
• A signed waiver is required for participation in any physical activities.
3.2 Transportation Services
• Transportation is available to and from the center for enrolled patients.
• Requests for transportation must be made at least 48 hours in advance.
3.3 Activities and Meals
• Activities include arts and crafts, exercise sessions, and cognitive stimulation programs.
• Meals are provided for all participants, and dietary restrictions (e.g., low-sodium, diabetic-friendly) are accommodated when disclosed in advance.
4. Aesthetic and Beauty Services Policies
4.1 Consultation Requirement
• Patients must undergo an initial consultation before receiving any aesthetic treatments, such as Botox or Kybella.
• Consultations will include a medical history review and treatment planning.
4.2 Pre- and Post-Treatment Care
• Patients will be provided with detailed pre-treatment and post-treatment instructions.
• Failure to follow post-treatment instructions may result in adverse effects, for which Suncare Medical Center cannot be held liable.
4.3 Refunds for Aesthetic Services
• Refunds for aesthetic services are not provided once treatment has been rendered.
• Dissatisfaction with results will be reviewed, and corrective measures may be offered at the discretion of the attending provider.
5. Food and Nutrition Policies
5.1 Meal Services
• Meals provided at the center are prepared in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Patients with food allergies or special dietary needs must notify us at the time of enrollment or before their visit.
5.2 Outside Food and Beverages
• Outside food and beverages are not allowed in the Wellness Center or Day Care without prior approval.
6. Pain Management and Therapy Policies
6.1 Patient Assessment
• All pain management patients must complete a comprehensive assessment, including medical history and diagnostic imaging if required.
6.2 Medication Policy
• Medications prescribed for pain management are strictly regulated. Patients must follow all dosing instructions and are required to report any side effects immediately.
6.3 Therapy and Follow-Up
• Manual pain therapy sessions require patients to attend all scheduled follow-ups to monitor progress.
• Missed therapy sessions without notice may result in a discontinuation of services.
7. Patient Conduct Policies
7.1 Code of Conduct
• Patients are expected to treat all staff, other patients, and visitors with respect. Abusive or threatening behavior will not be tolerated and may result in the termination of services.
7.2 Hygiene and Safety
• Patients are encouraged to maintain personal hygiene to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for everyone.
• Suncare Medical Center reserves the right to deny services if safety concerns arise.
7.3 Accompanied Visits
• Patients may bring one companion to appointments or Wellness Center activities.
• Children under 18 must remain under supervision at all times.
